Home Biographie Agenda Répertoire Vidéos Galerie Presse Contact Lianna Haroutounian is considered as one of the most promising Verdi sopranos of her generation.                Her significant lyrical-spinto abilities allow her to address a wide Opera Repertoire, facing Verdi and Puccini as the French and the Russian Repertoire , and also a wide Chamber Music Repertoire.  Lianna Haroutounian is from Armenia, she grew up in an opera-loving family and studied Pianoforte     and Voice at the National Conservatory of Erevan where she passed her Higher Education Singing Diploma in S. Danelian’s class and continued in France at the Centre de Formation Lyrique de         l’Opéra-Bastille.                                                                                                                                                              In summer 2013 , Armenian soprano made her triumphant debut with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden , stepping in at late notice to sing Elizabeth of Valois in Don Carlo, under the baton of                Mr. Antonio Pappano, beside Jonas Kauffman and Ferruccio Furlanetto . The Guardian has stated:             “ … Haroutounian seemed to pull forth ever-increasing vocal powers until you thought her heart, or yours, would burst …” After that she was immediately invited to perform the role of Hélène in Stefan Herheim’s  new production  of Les Vêpres siciliennes  at the Royal Opera House, again conducted by Anthonio  Pappano , which was seen around the world in the ROH Live Cinema and were released on DVD in 2015 . During the same  season she song the role of Hélène in Les Vêpres siciliennes  at             Frankfurt Opera , ABAO of Bilbao , at the GNO of Athens ( in italian version)  . On the concert  stage, Haoutounian performs Verdi’s Requiem at the Tetro Real of Madrid. She participated in Verdi Gala  at the Royal Opera House of Muscat  in cooperation with Teatro San Carlo of Naples , conducted by Sebastian Lang-Lessing.  In 2014 she made her Zurich Opera House debut  as Elisabeth of Valois of Don Carlo , conducted by Fabio Luisi and  repeated the role in  Verbier Festival  in concert performance , conducted by Daniel Harding . Her italian debut  she made at the Teatro San Carlo of Naples in the role of                        Desdemona / Otello , conducted by Nicola Luisotti , and at Sydney Opera House , where she obtained      a big personal success . She participated in Opera Gala at the  Festival d’Annecy .                                                        In octobre , this was followed by her  San Francisco triumphant debut  with the title role of Puccini’s Tosca , ( conducted by Riccardo Frizza) with great reviews from public and critics . The SFGATE has stated:   ”… One of the great aspects of soprano Lianna Haroutounian’s phenomenal San Francisco   Opera debut on Thursday night was the way she turned her musical gifts to the service of that conception. You could listen to her singing Puccini’s music all night long, and marvel at the beauty, precision and power that she packed into every measure of the performance …”                                                           She returned at the Teatro  San Carlo in Naples as Leonora, in the new production of Il Trovatore , conducted by Nicola Luisotti . Highlights 2015 include Haroutounian's debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Elisabeth of Valois in    Verdi’s Don Carlo , conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin . She returned at the ABAO of Bilbao  to sing Desdemona in new production of Otello , conducted by Riccardo Frizza .                                                   Most recently , she returned at the Royal Opera House, to sing the role of Mimi in John Copley’s iconic production  of Puccini’s La Bohème , opposite  Piotr Beczala ,conducted by Placido Domingo.  In December  she  will join Yuri Temirkanov and the Philharmonic Orchestra of St. Petersburg  to sing the title role of Iolanta , concert performance.                                                                                                       During the season  2011/2012 she song the role of Amelia (Un ballo in maschera) in Bern and Tours, Marguerite (Faust) at the Opéra de Massy, Amelia Grimaldi (Simon Boccanegra) and Mimì (La Bohème)   in Tours , Violetta (La Traviata) and Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) at the Festival de Sanxay .                                                                                                                                                      Haroutounian performs widely in Recital and in Concert, her Repertory including Verdi’s Requiem, Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Petite Messe solennelle, Poulenc’s Stabat Mater , Dvorak's Stabat Mater     and Mozart’s Requiem. She performs in numerous recitals in France , Italy , Spain , Armenia … Her future plans include :  Title role of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at the  Concertgebouw in    Amsterdam, (conducted by Karel Mark Chichon ) and San Francisco Opera ,debut in the title role of Adriana Lecouvreur   at La Monnaie  in Brussels (conducted by Evelino Pido), Amelia Grimaldi of Simon Boccanegra at the Metropolitan opera , opposite Placido Domingo , Ferruccio Furlanetto and  Joseph Calleja (conducted by  James Levine), Leonora /Il Trovatore , new production at the Royal Opera House  (conducted by Gianandrea Noseda) , Mimi/La Boheme at the Sydney Opera House(conducted by    Andrea Molino )…
